Alagbagba Summer Outreach 2024

This year, Tiny&Great reached out to 39 students from the underserved community of Ashi-Alagbagba, Oyo State, Nigeria. The T&G team collaborated with the organizers of the Alagbagba Summer School Project, as we have been doing for the past three years. The summer outreach focused on topics in computer science, critical thinking, problem-solving, and career paths in STEM-related subjects. Due to the lack of access to computers, this program ran as an unplugged edition. The children were so excited to be a part of the program and 17 of them registered to be a part of the Tiny&Great Club!

Achievements:

  • The students were able to understand the concept of problem-solving and identify the steps required to solve these problems.

  • The students were able to understand the concept of critical thinking, its importance in daily life, and its application.

  • The students understood better what computer science is all about, the skills required in this field, the career opportunities available, and how to come into this field of study.

  • The students learned to make decisions independently through critical thinking and problem-solving.

  • The students learned to trust their instincts and believe in themselves through various class activities.
